I wonder what’s next
After all of this
Suburban roads and
Oversized clothes
Thrift bins
Full of rich kids
Pity and extra credit
I was so close
To leaving this place
Now I haunt
Elementary playgrounds
High school parking lots
Oil spills in gas stations
The road that was meant to be
a highway
population 10,000
of my foreign hometown
no way out
but up
