To God's People
This is to the family of 5
Who sits in the front row at church
And prays every night
Who attends every devotion
Every youth event
Every fundraiser
Who spends every waking hour
Talking
Gossiping
Sharing useless information
Only used to harm someone else
Can I ask you
How does it feel?
Do you feel satisfied?
Loved?
Respected?
Did all that needless talk
All that harmful gossip
Did it do you any good?
Do you feel any better?
Or are you left
Just as empty
As you were before?
This is to the stay-at-home mom
Who works every waking hour
Cleaning
Cooking
Teaching
Who cares for her husband
Her house
Her children
Who sits in her room
With her phone in hand
Fighting with unknown people
On every social media handle imaginable
Saying nasty words
Sharing wrong information
Only used to harm someone else
Can I ask you
How does it feel?
Do you feel satisfied?
Loved?
Respected?
Did all that needless arguing
All that harmful talk
Did it do you any good?
Do you feel any better?
Or are you left
Just as empty
As you were before?
This is to the working-class man
Who fights every day just to keep his job
Who works endlessly to put food on the table
Who toils for his family
His home
His livelihood
Who walks down the street
And encounters someone who looks different
Acts different
Sounds different
And turns his head in disgust
An action only used to harm someone else
Can I ask you
How does it feel?
Do you feel satisfied?
Loved?
Respected?
Did all that needless disrespect
All those harmful glares
Did it do you any good?
Do you feel any better?
Or are you left
Just as empty
As you were before?
This is to God’s people
His chosen ones
His messengers
The ones who attend every church event
The ones who care for their family
The ones who work endlessly
The same ones who
Gossip
Argue
Judge
Can I ask you
Why can’t we love one another?
Why can’t we follow God’s most important commandment?
Why can’t we be His disciples?
This is to all Christians
The ones who need to change
The ones who want to change
The ones who will change
This is to God’s people

I have recently noticed how broken the Christian society has become. Moved by my observations, I decided to put pen to paper and came up with this little poem :)
