The Melody of a Storm

Rain hushes
As thunder sings me to sleep.
The wind sweeps the sweet covers of sleep over me
This beautiful melody
Is one my sister fear
To her, it's harmony.
Shrieking wails of wind
Thunder falls to earth
Lightning breaks the peace of night
She would rather have darkness
Than a nightlight of lightning
Water rushes through the gutters
And hail clangs upon the roof
Such sounds drift me off to sleep
And yet here I write this for you
So you can hear the melody
And fall asleep too
