Widows - Superheroes and Supermoms
Nature altered. After rainbow milky white cloud has come.
The pious red which adorned the forehead can't be traced.
The nails till yesterday satiated with paints now starve for a droplet.
The shiny circles and everything which vowed of a 'happy marriage'
Have departed with the dear.
She finds herself alone in the boat.
With her son, feeling helpless, she still propels forward.
In the vast, unlimited sea where his company was supposed.
The tears of her relatives are true but temporary.
Nothing will be up to scratch
If she doesn't get strong and get going.
Alas! People can be so cruel. But her love
For his last reflection overcomes heartless words
"Look at her she is more free after her husband's death."
Being independent - was never her way. Needed
Him even to the grocery - was her way to affectionate.
A patriarchal homemaker, the Gulliver and the Lilliputian-
The difference was by choice.
She was an Indian wife for whom he was God.
I salute the Superhero, the Supermom, her never tiring power,
Her sleepless nights remembering him, making
Obedient promises I will take care of him.
Her little one too is a magician. Right?
If not how can her hopeless sleep
Transform into sleepless hope
Just with his single smile.
There, in the sea, is one similar boat.
But there a father mourns.
Can't the contents be transferred to a single boat.
Because when broken hearts meet
Even if they don't complete,
Are cemented at least.

My name is Sanskriti. I am from India. I am sixteen years old and a student of class XI.
This poem is truly and wholeheartedly dedicated to all the single mothers (whom I prefer to call super mothers) who work so hard both physically and emotionally for their children.
Although I strongly believe that the one a person has lost is irreplaceable still I feel that the pain will be reduced and the life will be easier for sure if the person decides to spend the rest of his/her life with a person who is going through the same pain. So I also have an idea that there should be associations where widows and widowers resister themselves and if they find a match marry each other. Similarly, there should be online matrimonial apps as well for them.
I feel this poem can make a difference.
I shall be highly motivated if you select my poem.
Thank you for reading my submission.
