Hope
Hope:
(n) a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen
This word I hear all the time and I’m so tired of it
“Don’t give up have hope, you are stronger than what you are going through”
Hope, hope,hope
Why have hope in this world we call “home”?
Things may get better but they very well may not
So why go through this messy life to see if things could go better but they very well may not?
Why wait when you could take a pill, sit in silence, fall asleep, and not wake up
Why sit awake at night in a black room crying; but not too loud because you cant let anyone know that you are sad and don’t want to be here anymore
Why wake up at two in the morning screaming at the top of your lungs because you just had a dream that he was back in your room again
Why suffer through this when you could fill your lungs with smoke and forget all your problems
I ask myself all these things, but yet I'm still here
I wonder why and the only thing that comes to mind, is you
You are the reason I am still here, you are the reason i still have.... A little bit of hope
So when you get tired of hearing the same old “don’t stop fighting” phrase
Don’t try to end it, or make yourself forget, because ending it puts the problems on someone else and trying to forget is just a temporary solution
Find that one thing or one person that is your gravity, that is holding you to this Earth, grab a hold of them and never let go
Hold on like your life depends on it, because it does
Always remember that you have someone who is there for you, his name is Jesus and he knows what you are going through and he always has time to listen
God put you on this Earth for a reason, he knows that you are strong enough for the curve balls that are thrown at you, so instead of striking out, look the pitcher in the eyes and hit that ball out of the park

My name is Kyrstin, I am 14 years old, and I am from a small town in Western South Dakota. I have two brothers and three dogs. I love nature and everything in it, I play softball, basketball, and volleyball. I wrote this poem to hopefully give young adults the inspiration to want to keep going even when the times get tough, I wrote this from deep most vulnerable part of my heart and poured my heart into it. I hope this will reach and touch the hearts of others!
