Words are the Gratitude of Life
words are the gratitude of life
the pitter patter of singular raindrops, out of the whole thunderstorm,
because without the rain, there would yet to be a hurricane
something so small on the morning grass, yet so big on violent forecasts
words are the gratitude of life
ebbing and flowing, they are the salt to the sea
stinging to those who open their eyes under the waves
peaceful waters can line the horizon, but when a tsunami comes along all is forgotten
crashing hard against the shore, but not always accompanied by a roar
words are the gratitude of life
communicating through the song of language
our deepest thoughts amused on the sheet music of our world
each note a unique sound vibrating through the air
its impact invisible to the eye, but settles deep down with no deny
words are the gratitude of life
one star does not make a picture, nor does it capture essence
but create a starry sky and you have the world lit up in your eyes
you cannot feel the heat but you know not to get too close,
leaving traces against the night, causing explosions or providing light
words are the gratitude of life
singular seeds in a garden of magnitude
plowing through weeds to let the fauna grow
masses of color garnish the air
a pungent hue camouflaged beneath the sweet one, even the evil still grow towards the sun
it doesn’t matter where you go
myriad of droplets continue to glow
saltiness in the sea overflows
resonating notes both high and low
these characters shine their light on woe
blossoming up from the ground below
words are the gratitude of life
