Expiration
An unwholesome rest,
Met with an unknown demise
As sweet smells turn sour,
And skin begins to fall.
Little by little, inch by inch,
So many things cease to go on.
Things can be heard,
Crinkly, lurching, swirling.
Feelings are felt,
Sadness and despair.
A macabre end to a new start,
eternally gone but always remembered
