life goes on, with you or without you.

A small child with blood and tears on her face
Appears to the world with a certain grace.
With a shrill cry,
And a cringing of the eye,

She looks to a bright light,
Determined to fight.

It wasn’t so easy to do as she pleased,
It wasn’t as easy as she believed.
It wasn’t so easy to walk, to learn, to fight-
But she got through the day, and she got through the night.

And when she got older
She met at odds ends.
It was the middle of October
When she made her amends.
She said goodbye to her mother
And goodbye to her father,
She had to go further-
So life wasn’t a bother.

And on a journey she went
With not a dime in her pocket, not even one cent.

She made many friends along the way
They were very different
In each and every way.
She had work and she had play,
She was growing each day!
She lived a life without judgment.

So when she went home
To mama and papa-
She had many stories,
About all the drama.
