The Girl in Red
The girl in red once has said
That she can read people’s minds
That their true pain is what she finds
I asked how she could see such signs
She replied “it’s like reading between the lines”
The girl in red once took my hand and lead
Me through the crowds of pedestrians
She pointed out some as “the Heart-Strains”
I asked why she came up with such names
She answers “they don’t follow their dreams”
The girl in red once let her tears shed
And held on to me so tight
She said that no one ever uses sight
I asked her why that would be right
She cried “because then they’ll see the light”
The girl in red looked less fed
Her eyes looking more sunken in
Her body looking more frail and thin
I asked her how this happened
She whispered “this is my end”
The girl in red now lies in a bed
Made of silk and filled with roses
New beginnings is what her death proposes
I asked questions of how’s and why’s
She taught me the importance of lives
