I can try, No matter what
I can try to tell you,
I'm doing OK.
I can try to speak to you,
Without my emotions getting in the way.
I can laugh with you,
I can smile.
But the longer you've been gone,
I've missed you that long while.
I do my best to try to,
Get you back.
But no matter what I do,
I get unfocused,
I get off track.
I can try to move on,
I can try to sleep.
But nothing in this world,
Changes the way my heart beats.
The faster it goes,
I know I'm thinking of you.
I can try to think of something else,
Because I just want to be through.
I can try to smile,
I can try to say goodbye.
I can try to have a good day,
But I know it'll take awhile.
