The Shadows Remain

The shadows remain deep inside. I can not see them but here, they abide. I thought they were denied, and shoved away by the tide. But inside they hide. Waiting to preside. Where can i confide? I cannot decide. I wish I had seen the bright side. But instead I sat astride, and turned away from that divide. If it weren't for pride I would not have lied, and been beaten aside in my own mind.
