Cannot Call It Love
We're high, we're low
I want you so
Then there's a night
When nothing's right
The room gets filled with doubt
And I desperately want out
Later you caress me, and I pull you in close
We gaze into each other's eyes and for a minute there, almost
It almost felt like this could last for a while
Like I could get lost in your entrancing smile
Until forever
Until whenever
Till the heat starts so subside
But there's too much that we hide
The battle will not end
Our wounds can't seem to mend
Just let it fade
We can't persuade
Our hearts to feel the same way
And I never thought I'd see the day
When I could look at you and say
That we cannot call this love
Perhaps it's not sent from above
Perhaps our souls aren't meant to be
Perhaps you were not made for me
And I was never made for you
And there is nothing we can do
It shakes me, but I know it's true
It's time that we let go
Maybe we'll never know
Why we met or what was meant
Why these feelings came and went
But I guess it's part of life
Love and gain, loss and strife
So shed all of your armor
Say au revoir, mon belle amour
C'est le fin
