The Revolutionary Night
Churning and pooling all around me
kayos and death pollute the morning air
brown and green hidden in bushes
the bombs explode in the distance
men yell and shout in the fields
guns go off, shooting off faster than blinking
fire sweeps the forest never sparing
as the cries and screams explode loader than canons
crawling through the dirt and brush
stomach protesting with each move
the rivers flooded with red and ash
men and women fall
our flag is still standing strong
blowing in the wind and rain
hope doesn’t wash away with blood and water
the images of hope and freedom stronger than ever
