Asha Hill
Here I stand, all alone.
In this place, I once called home.
I look around, the charred remains.
The destruction of the flames.
My tears cascading down my face,
It hurts so bad to see this place.
No one knows what I would give,
To be the one that didn't live.
Flames consume, depression burns,
No one knows how bad this hurts.
Her blackened body, barely there.
Burned right up, from toes to hair.
Dental records for I.D.
How I wish that it was me.
I should have saved her, the fault is mine.
I wish I could go back in time.
I jumped out my window, once I saw the smoke.
Leaving her inside, to burn and to choke.
I looked up to her, and always will.
My big sister, Asha Hill.
My hearts exploding, I miss her so.
How much I loved her, she'll never know.
Nothing left to do but cry.
Asking myself why she died.
Funeral time, the blackest day.
I stand up, and start to pray.
I ask for strength, forgiveness, love.
And that she's okay, way up above.
Say my sorry, shake my head.
Unbelieving that she's dead.
Healing starts, but never ends.
As my life twists and turns and bends.
Everything's changed, and it will stay,
Different and changing, everyday.
Getting better, even still.
I'll always love her, Asha.
