A writer is a world trapped inside a person

My soul is a library
With blood that is ink
That flows through the isles
Filling to the brink

I've lived a thousand lives
And I'll live a thousand more
Each book is a world
Each page is a door

Poetry awakens me
Novels make me wander
To the Reference books I cannot borrow
I'm slowly growing fonder

There's room in my library
For books of every kind
I'll read each over and over
Make the images rewind

If ever my library
Starts to smolder and burn
I'll do my best to grip each precious story
And save it to learn

My soul is a library
With too many books to read
But the knowledge in each volume
Is something that I need

The stories inside of them
Are young and old
Some are meek and quiet
Some are strong and bold

My lungs are stanzas
My eyes are a page
Poems hide inside me
Behind my rib cage

My soul is a library

And even if
My story does roam
A library
Is always home

This is beautiful. I love books and stories in general, which made me love this poem even more. Great job, keep writing!
