I Remember...
I remember chasing after each other
and playing tag in the backyard and
watching Saturday morning cartoons
and hiding and seeking and
staying up late to see Santa
and waiting for the school bus and
playing football on the driveway and
climbing on the siloh and hunting for Easter eggs
and swimming in the lake and
fighting with my siblings
and picking weeds in the hot sun
and showing and telling and
built snow forts and snowmen
and completed chores and got our allowance
and walked in big malls and awed at the toys and
rode big wheels and ran into walls
and led secret missions and
watched our dogs grow up and
secretly,
we were too.
I wish I could be a kid again.
