The Girl on a Stage
Standing, smiling, singing,
On stage I see the lights shining bright as a knight.
I watch as the set moves toward the light.
I hear the white keys of the piano clicking,
Making sure the blocking is tight,
The curtain opens for the first time.
Breaking a leg on this night,
Finally, the orchestra starts and we start to rhyme.
The shows are insane, never content.
Wanting no part of getting steped on.
As the night goes on the dancers start to yawn.
I'm starting to feel bent,
As the dancers dance upon.
The show is now over, they start to bow
It's becoming closer to dawn,
Wow! Oh wow!
