Simple Melody

He used to walk along the sand
singing a simple melody.
But he will walk no more
Nor will he sing.
For my dear friend has past and gone
To somewhere I don't belong.
I've lost him
and this time I won't be able to find him.
For he has journeyed on and left me behind.
His footsteps gone
And his voice fading
has left me once and for all.
