Terrible Fate

He takes a knee
before his queen.
He bowes his head,
and knows this could be the end!
She tells him to stand.
He kisses her hand.
The subjects stand around.
Making not even one sound.
Her voice rings like a dinner bell,
and he knows he is being sent to hell!
Oh, what a fateful day to be
the boy who rose from his knee.
His mother faints
at the thought of her only son's fate.
How could it be?
Is this true destiny?
Not a single tear escapes his eyes.
He knows he is destined to do and die.
His spirit is gone,
but his legend lives on!
