Morning Star
Her name tells of how it was with her.
In the morning her mind came back to life,
Like the beginning of a new book
To shine with the morning star.
She was often cheerful
Though sometimes her face would turn down.
Her curiosity sometimes took over.
She was like sunshine in the morning
Never wide awake,
But on the very edge of wakefulness.
She was like waves crashing on the sand
Always coming up with new ideas.
She was like a bird in the sky,
Making its way home,
For that is where she most liked to be.
She was the thunder rolling in the sky,
And the rain falling down.
For she was always pouring words,
And always jumping ahead with the next idea.
And that is the way it was with her.
