Flawless
To be honest, my dearest,
You’re the fakest person I know
You dwell on this façade
That penetrates your inner soul
And you cannot look in the mirror
Without seeing the bags under your eyes
Or the blemishes on your nose
You cannot escape the image in your mind
As you dive into a fantasy.
But all I see is a dead body
Floating aimlessly on the surface
No, you will not drain this pool
Of lies that compel your thoughts
Into seeing the flaws residing on your face
And you cannot be convinced otherwise.
So, to be honest, my poor girl,
You are blind.
Those dark brown eyes that fit so
Perfectly in your head serve no
Purpose but to distract and
Torture your effortless body.
You cannot see the beauty that
Soaks into your skin
And you cannot see the blood
That flows to your heart
Until you break down and cry
Yourself to sleep
Destroying your unrealistic fantasy.
So, to be honest, my dear,
Fall down and let it be.
