The Regal Beast
The dragon creeps through the streets,
like a mouse tiptoeing across the kitchen floor.
He slithers and glides,
as he passes through the gateway doors.
His fiery red and yellow scales,
shimmer in the moonlight.
His eyes are fireflies,
twinkling in the night.
The crowd begins to roar and rumble,
as he comes into view.
Fireworks POP, BOOM, and BANG,
and glow like stars do.
As the night turns into day,
the dragon scurries away.
He follows the long trail of the Great Wall,
as it curves and swerves through the green haze.
He slides back to his lair,
where he waits for another three hundred and sixty-five days.
