A spotlight.

She stands center stage.

A single tear rolls down her cheek and she begins to perform.

Still so young, but old enough.

Going through all the right the motions, the light follows her as she paces.

She is aware she is being watched, all eyes on her. Silence.

"Pick me," she cries out, but the words are just noise in the emptiness

And mean nothing because the choice is yours and you make that clear.

She is still. She is pure. But she is broken.

No longer young, her heart now knows no reason.

The light goes out. The curtains close.

There she is, center stage. The tear hits the floor as she understands
