A mild breeze sweeps back my hair
I close my eyes and take it in
It smells of nature with a hint of sugar
Still sweet from the passing of Halloween
The leaves that change; once a boring green
But autumn came and brought their colors to life
Now reds and browns and oranges
Cover the trees I used to know
The nippy air stings my skin
The wind; it whistles like old men do when they walk
My footsteps crunch unsubtly
In the piles of newly dead leaves
