Rising Son
It was a day like any other;
people walking about,
vendors pushing carts in the street,
amid the melodious laughter of children.
Suddenly,
alarms sound in the distance,
ears begin to ring.
Legs run in all directions.
A tear drop from Heaven
plummets to the ground
and splashes upon the city.
For a moment,
there was silence.
Then--
chaos.
Babies
without their mothers,
charred homes
silently burning,
singed corpses,
where cloth and flesh
became one.
The earth is scorched.
The sun is dim.
A nation weeps.
A world away,
people rejoice
and run through the streets
waving their flags,
honking their horns.
But here,
it is different,
as He is crying.
