I am a Flower
I will never forget the way you watched me grow
I was part of the jungle in your house
That bloomed with flowers for all
From diapers to potty training
You were there for it all
A second mom I could say
Never once did you say take this path
Only when I crossed the road
I remember when I didn't get along with others
And had to sit in timeout
For my punishment
I miss your huge jungle gym
I miss the arts and crafts
I miss the Red Wing pool
I miss McDonald’s we behaved
But now I am jealous
I am not young anymore
I want to play in your front lawn again
But I have grown
Now that there is a slide inside
Makes me even more jealous
I wanted to say thanks for all that you’ve done for me
For leading me to do good
And punishing me when I’ve done wrong
Thanks for watching me play
And supporting me
I am a flower
That you helped grow in the jungle
Of your home
