Walking Alone
My heart has been broken, torn and shattered
to the point where I wondered if anything mattered.
All of the pieces spread out on the floor
I didn't even bother to pick them up anymore.
So many lies and words left unsaid
pointless journeys that my heart has lead.
Too many times I looked for someone to care
only to find that no one was there.
Hoping for the best only to get let down
Listening for a loving word and never hearing a sound.
Reaching for a hug and never feeling a thing
I can only imagine someone to love and the joy they would bring.
Someone to listen to what my heart has to say
Someone to hold me close and tell me everything is okay.
I can no longer pretend that nothing is wrong
Its gets hard to move forward when you're walking alone.
