Your Girl
I never thought I’d end up with you,
and still, it blows my mind.
I had an idea months before,
but I thought it’d take more time.
It’s crazy that I’m here right now
and looking in your eyes;
we made it through some tough ground,
but for right now you’re all mine.
I bite my lip and look away
‘cause you always make me blush;
and it’s in the way you kiss me –
you always give me a rush.
And I just feel so comfortable
in your arms and in your home;
you have no idea the joy I feel
to be recognized and known.
Thinking back, it was so clear,
how could I have been so wrong?
I wasted so much time on them
when it was you all along.
You’re lifting me so high each day
with your simple words and presence;
I love being around your laugh,
your beauty and your essence.
Sweetheart, you’re so good to me,
I can only hope that it’s returned.
You give me so much love, I’m scared
that it’s not fairly earned.
Thank you for your endless care,
please know it means the world.
One last thing before I go –
I’m so proud to be your girl.
