A Soul Lost At Sea

I’m longing for a port
To save me from the sea
Like a safe haven, or a sturdy fort
From this nightmare, I will be free

To save me from the sea
I’ll sit by a toasty fire
From this nightmare, I will be free
The ocean’s fierce and dire

I’ll sit by a toasty fire
Far away, in a cozy tavern
The ocean’s fierce and dire
For a safe place, I yearn

Far away, in a cozy tavern
I would like to be content before I die
For a safe place, I yearn
Before my trusty ship does capsize

I would like to be content before I die
Somewhere far from this deadly storm
Before my trusty ship does capsize
Before each canvas sail is torn

Somewhere far from this deadly storm
So I can be curled up and comfortable
Before each canvas sail is torn
My faded quilt’s warmth would be wonderful

So I can be curled up and comfortable
I’m longing for a port
My faded quilt’s warmth would be wonderful
Like a safe haven, or a sturdy fort

It's never to late, if it weren't for the last minute many things would never get done!

This is a really good poem. The pattern that peguinlover describes really helps it flow. I can relate to this because often I find when life is hard I just want to go home and curl up and forget about all my troubles. Great poem!

I really liked your poem. I thought it was clever how the 2nd line in each verse became the 1st line in the next verse. Good job
