A Series of Cliches
I’m still in love with him
Pardon the clichés, but
He was always there for me in a tight spot
I could lean my head on his shoulder and he’d kiss away my tears
His smile was like sunshine---it melted my heart
But now my heart’s broken and there’s a new set of clichés
Did I wear my heart on my sleeve?
Did it scare him away?
I’d climb every mountain, swim any sea just to…
I’m still in love with him
But I fear love is a cliché
