Dearest Thing
dearest thing
in the sun showers we’d play;
i heard your screeches
on the cold winter days.
the ghosts, they moved you;
everyone said it was wind,
but i called it my spirit.
every seasonal day,
your soft cushioned touch
filled my every desire.
we’d fly away up to the sky and
you’d take away my worries;
you’d take away my pain.
my home was in your arms,
i would have stayed there forever.
and when I went, you remained
waiting for my next arrival,
but i’m afraid that ends here;
i’ve been dreading this moment
when i would have to say goodbye.
"Goodbye swing, oh swing
you truly were my dearest thing".
