Time
There goes the clock again.
There’s no use in trying to pretend.
You say, “We have awhile,”
So you sit and do nothing.
I go swimming in the Nile,
So you see, I did something.
But then, you look up at me
And notice the wall,
Just in time to see
Time and his mighty fall.
There on the floor,
Beneath the shattered clock glass,
Some scattered under the door
You watch time pass.
Now or then,
Before or when,
Time is lost
And gone forever.
And at such a cost,
You would thought never
Could this be.
How’s it gonna be?
