Recuerde la Noche
We were very happy, we were very satisfied—
We danced the night away ‘til our feet almost died.
It was dark and loud as the music lifted—
Only noticing each other as we slowly drifted,
We gazed in the sparkle of each other’s eyes;
And the stars shown bright, and the moon in disguise.
We were very happy, we were very satisfied—
We danced the night away ‘til our feet almost died.
And you whispered in my ear, and I in yours,
As the warmth of your hand sent shivers through my pores;
And the song subsided, but we noticed not,
And my cheeks caught fire, a gleaming hot.
We were very happy, we were very satisfied—
We danced the night away ‘til our feet almost died.
Our cheeks brushed, and gently rested together,
And with no care in the world, we symbolized forever,
And the lights awakened Earth, the drifting turned to pain,
And we departed from fantasy and entered into rain.
