Purple is Her Color

Her hair was gray,
Blending in with the gray of the sky,
But the sweater shone its purple thread.
An old and tired face,
Lit up by this radiant garment.
It brings years to her face.
It makes the worry lines blend together.
It makes the down turned lips refreshed.
It makes her eyes regain the sparkle.
It makes the gray look more like silver.
The gray sky doesn’t bother her.
She wears this purple sweater,
It protects her from the day.
It helps keep her soul singing.
It helps keep her heart open.
