Girl From Saxony
Poet me something esoteric,
girl from Saxony
words that only you can say
your rhythm gives them meaning
Poet me something from our days
when we'd walk in autumn through the countryside
I would talk of Oxford
and you your family's farm
The wind would rustle through the orange
and flutter the leaves higher
You would smile to me
and I would look back with wonder
Poet that smile to me once more
I will not let any enigma
stand in the way of an Oxford man
