Yesterday
I took the best picture
Of a large, pink flower
Planted in my backyard
The petals blushed
Around the golden sun center
The green stem so electric it hurt my eyes
Straining toward the sky
It was perfectly captured
Inside the camera lens
Proud and tall
My flower
I went outside today
A fat black beetle was eating my flower’s petals
Now all I have is my picture
