Ode to A Pumpkin
If ever a pumpkin was as round and orange as thee,
I would surely like to see.
For thou art the greatest companion I have,
Thou never move from thy spot or go bad.
Sweet pies, bars, and bread thee make.
Many helpings of thee I take.
I look forward to thou all year round
And wait for thou to grow out of the ground.
Many funny pictures I can carve
In thou face so very large.
I dread the day thou must leave
And have to wait for the next pumpkin seed.
