Contemplations at Midnight
Head down
Feet dragging
I look up out of habit...
My reflection
So familiar
Yet so foreign
Looking deep into my own eyes
I search for answers
As if this duplicate
Is somehow wiser
Stronger
Better...
But those brown eyes just stare back at me
Wide,
Glossy,
Sorrowful
At the realization
Of yet another expectation
That was apparently too high.
