Ode to the Almond MAG
The most precious
jewel,
treasure chests
piled in the palace of sultans
overflow with your
ageless
goodness,
I, like a thief in the night,
enjoy your riches
from the confines
of my secret cave,
the pantry.
A gold nugget,
shattered
within my mouth
like a sweet and gentle
bomb.
A brown rhino's knee cap
containing a hidden
lake
of milk
Oh, Brown Raindrop!
I drink
your reservoirs
to hydrate
my soul.
Your taste
enchants
like the captivating
rhythm
of a jungle
drum.
I eat you
half a heart,
my heart,
a crisp and gleeful
legless
beetle,
light as a pumice pebble,
dense as
a black hole.
Raw,
you bring me
to naked beginnings.
Roasted,
a fire erupts,
writhes
and dances
until coming
to comfortably
sleep in the
den
of my core.
