Panic
You feel the stillness over the water,
the feeling that comes and goes with the mist.
Looking over the eerily undisturbed water from the shore you feel it from within.
From this silence, the feeling of complete and utter nothingness.
The nothingness fades to something of almost lifelessness.
Almost as though nothing exists.
Almost as though the night swallowed you whole.
Almost as though this harbor wants to keep you.
The fear that comes from deep within surfaces here.
You feel it.
As though you're being watched by the moon itself.
Waiting for you, watching you, preying upon you.
You wish for nothing more than to disappear into the darkness,
to expel this feeling.
But you can’t.
That is the beauty of fear,
it consumes you.
