Fighting for Life
Once the adventure starts, it’s simple.
The hero has one plan set in mind,
Which is to kill the dragon and
Take the gold for his village,
As he and the folk have none.
His medic who is a friend,
came alone, and has hope.
There’s no tall and old monsters,
There to stop him. No witches to
Cast spells on him. His bag,
That is red, small and shaped oddly, is
filled with food and water.
There’s only straight paths to take
Towards the cure for his village.
As the adventure unravels,
The hero starts to realize the truth
About his hope.
His rations are decreasing,
His house has been taken by monsters,
He feels exhausted from all the walking,
And he also starts to lose hope.
The folk
Start to not seem happy
As they wait. The hero
Grasps some monsters,
but they don’t attack. He does
Gain some more friends
along the way with the same mission,
and he enjoys it.
His medic, starts to seem nervous, and
Sympathetic towards him.
He tries to heal the hero after a fight, but
Some of the scars didn’t fade.
It doesn’t bother the hero though.
The path also feels a little different
than before.
After years on the adventure,
The hero regrets ever leaving his house
That used to be safe for him.
The dragon knows he’s coming,
And decide to punish his friends instead.
His friends, who fought to the end
Gave themselves into the sickness of evil,
And are now gone.
His pack is very light, and
The folk are upset and impatient with seeing
no sight of gold once more for them.
He constantly has to worry about even the
Little green monsters trying to take his life,
With his sword in his hands.
His medic who is still beside him,
Is out of faith, but still heals
Him. The healing and strength potions
Are running out. The hero also
Feels more weary and exposed to monsters.
The path has tended to be more divergent that it was
When he started.
The hero is almost at the entrance of the dragon.
The creature that took his friends. He
Has very little faith left in him to fight,
But he misses his friends, so onwards he goes.
His bag is empty, with nothing inside, and is
Damaged by the use of it.
His medic has left, as he can’t go on anymore,
Since the rest of the journey relies on the hero.
The potions have also run out,
As the heroes scars still don’t seem to fade.
Before the medic left, he told
The hero to keep fighting for his life,
even if it feels hopeless. The hero
Still continues on a path that is unknown,
And invisible.
The story is done, but it’s complicated.
The hero has finally finished his adventure.
With the dragon slain, and the
gold in his filled bags. His pals
Who were once gone, wait for him
After the dragon fell, or so it seemed.
The path is much clearer to see. He
walks home, knowing the folk he knew,
will be happy once more, as so is he.
His house is once more, unabandoned and safe,
As the monsters backed away for now.
His scars still haven’t fade which is odd,
As they should be if the dragon was fully gone.
But yet, he is still tired and
Ready to live a new story.
The bright light is so illuminating, as he walks closer
along the path once more visible.
Closer, till the story ends.
