Anything is possible, if you want it bad enough ~ Glenn Travis

Your first car is yellow

Like a field of sunflowers

So beautiful and unique

So petite and cozy

Yellow would take over

The freedom is never ending

Like a record that’s stuck in a loop

The more you drive it the more red you feel towards it

Red is a mix of beaming love and joy

Red took over

Until it showed another meaning

So deep and dark

So unyellow, and unsatisfied

The screeching of the tires are a harsh wolf howl red

The sound of the horn is a hangry shark bite  red

The echoes of the sirens such a bright crisp apple red

The car was zooming, like a falling star in the night

The bruises were forming, like storm clouds in the sky

The stop sign that apparently wasn’t red, but instead a bright welcoming green circle

Red took over

Tears were falling

Parents were calling

Cops were swarming

Emergency room was stalling

Blue had made its appearance

Pain and tears

Screams and fears

The night ended with black mascara smears

There I was, in my silver diamond car with the sunroof open

My yellow

So beautiful and unique

So petite and cozy

So me

So destroyed and now painted red

The tire marks still on the road

My draws filled with all the little things I kept in my car

Photos, air fresheners, makeup, hair ties, chapsticks

I couldn’t take the heart that was drawn on the sunroof from the crisp cold fog

My car was my yellow
