Rain
Rain,
Oh how you wash up on the window sill
Bending light to your will
Pittering pattering,
Sputtering splattering
Out of every cloud, you spill
Rain,
Cover up the sun you must
To reap the lands of its dust
Swishing and swaying
On the windchimes, you are playing
Seeping into the earth’s crust
Rain,
Without you, there would be no water to drink
Nothing to pour out of our kitchen’s sink
Oh how thirsty we would be
Without your lavish beauty
Times would be too hard to think
Rain,
For the countries, you’ve connected
Ones you’ve carefully selected
Binding rivers to the soil
Allowing us to stay and toil
Seeing what your puddles have reflected
