I want only my good opinion
When you're the new kid
In a miniscule school
Everyone talks
To you
About you
They think you're the coolest thing
Since the last new kid
Because you're reasonably good looking
And seem so innocent
But then it changes
The moment someone says
Something you don't agree with
You politely disagree
The moment you stop playing along
They turn on you
Just because you refuse
To be a sunday christian
And conform to the culture
You're no longer the new kid
You're an alien
Just because you read
Shakespere in your free time
And join the chess club
And raise your hand in class
They turn on you
You are unpredictable
You call them out on what they say
Trying to get them to
Take a second look at themselves
They don't like that
You don't curse
Drink
Dress to impress
Date
Or look for their good opinions
Yeah, you could take the path of least resitance
But in that comprimise
You would lose yourself
I won't up my self respect
To gain your respect
Sorry, but thats the way I am
