College Basketball Student Athletes
In the NBA draft every year their are players in it that only spent one year in college. In football there is a rule forcing all players to spend a minimum of 3 years in college. In basketball their used to be no forced education in college. Players like Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, and Dwight Howard never even attended college and are some of the greatest players in the sport. The ladder is that players like Sebastian Telfair and others never performed well in the NBA and therefore are left with not great legacy in the NBA and no education. Even with one year in college players do not get a great education. When referring to a college basketball player you call them a student athlete. Half of the phrase in student, but with only one year education in college they are not really students. In my opinion the rule should be changed to force either a minimum of two years in college or an option to take a test, and if its passed they can advance to the NBA in one year.
