I Believe
I believe in friendship. The moment you meet someone and realize you might actually want to hang out with them. Each weekend a strategically planned sleepover. Uncontrollable laughter caused by something that happened three years ago. Being so annoyed with them, but knowing it's only because you know them like the back of your hand. Late night drives ranting about high school boys, a late paper, and that girl who gave you a mean look in the hallway today. I believe in that special bond we've created through memories.
All the birthday celebrations, parties, and holidays. A five minute argument because they truly think that shirt is theirs instead of yours. Being able to walk straight into their house, no knock needed. Creating code words for the embarrassing things we do; we want to broadcast it to each other not the whole world. Making ugly faces in the hallway and having to play it cool when a stranger notices. I believe friends are the siblings God forgot to give you.
When one girl in the group gets a boyfriend it's a package deal; we all know everything. Group texts constantly being updated with everybody's whereabouts. Early mornings being woken up by the one friend who actually enjoys them. Sweet, sappy texts that make you forever greatful to have such kind hearted best-friends. The little moments that mold the friendship into a sisterhood.
I believe family isn't just blood, but the people who have been through it all with you; friends. I believe in friendship.
