It's the Story Of My Life
Driving. Anticipation. We rolled up into the city of Detroit. The excitement hit me like a grenade. Once I saw the building…I lost it. I squeezed my best friend’s hand, and she squeezed back, letting me know that she was feeling the same way. “Is this really happening?” I kept asking her. I guess it still hadn’t settled in my mind completely that I would be seeing the five boys who mean the world plus more to me. Yes, as a matter-of-fact, I am arriving at Ford Field in Detroit to see One Direction in concert.
The parking lot was full of noise. And not just from the cars. A title wave of teenage girls entered my eyes from every direction. All here for the same purpose.
Getting a parking spot was not very easy, but we managed to claim a very well set spot that would allow us easy access to the highway after the concert was finished. As my best friend and I stepped out of the car, we looked at each other and smiled.
Full of anticipation, we waited in line. Thousands of girls overly doused in perfume surrounded the premises, waiting for one glimpse of the boys.
Finally, we were in. The only words running through my mind were “holy s***, this IS happening.” 200 days later, my dream became a reality.
My heart raced and my breath hitched as we got to our seats. Seats so close. So close that they could actually look out into the crowd and see me. But yet, they are so far away.
Time rolled on and the lights dimmed. But it was silent. Not silent to anyone else in the stadium because of the sound of screeching teenage girls, but silent to me as I was in pure awe. One Direction showed up on stage.
