Baseball is life
It was the bottom of the second inning at Arrowheads varsity baseball field there was 1 out I was on deck timing the pitcher up and I was feeling pretty confident the batter in front of me struck out so I was going up with 2 outs and as he was walking back to the dugout he told me to watch for curveball starts high and ends at the top of the strike zone. With that knowledge, I go up to the plate with the mindset of trying to draw a walk and make the bases loaded to try to distract the pitcher but then I remembered its the second inning so if I am the last out its ok becus we have 4 more inens to get back into the game so I go up to bat first pitch ball high second pitch ball high thered pitch I saw the spin and know it was a fastball right down the middle so I swing and see the ball sailing toured the center fielder it looked like he was going to catch it but hit the end of his glove so I took off running to second the throw was cut off by the shortstop and then throw to home to try to get the runner that was on second so when I saw he was throwing it home I took off to thered were my coach was waving me home yelling
“Wheelssssss you gotta go you gotta go wheels”
so I take off toured home and then I saw that the ball was at the backstop so it was going to be a close play at home but I am running as fast as I can so I messed up my slide and went toured the back of the plate instead of the fright of it which I properly would have been safe but I got tagged out and I got up ran back to the dugout and grabbed my hat and glove and went right out and played the out filed and when I came back in my couch thought I was mad at him but all I said was
“It’s only one run we will get it back right now this inning”
“That’s the mindset we need right now”
In that inning, we scored 15 runs and we ended up winning 21 to 6
