Learning a little more about Katie

This is an interview I did with my close friend, Katie.
Me: What is your current state of mind?
Katie: I am a pretty sane person. I'm a dreamer and am just happy with life. Stress is to be expected though, because schooling gets harder each year.

Me: How did it become your current state of mind?
Katie: I used to be pretty down about a year or two ago until I went to camp and really got to know a group of people who changed my life. It seemed as if we'd known each other for centuries, and they showed me the brighter side of life.

Me: What do you think is the meaning of life?
Katie: The meaning of life can be explained in three simple words, which are very overused, yet somehow still hold their meaning: Peace, love, and happiness

Me: What fault do you have the least toleration for? Why?
Katie: I have the least toleration for smoking. Despite the fact I can't smell cigarette smoke, every time I pass by someone who smokes; I seem to choke on the smoke. Why? Bad lungs have been in my family for a long time, and smoke just makes them weaker. Well, either smokers or my gym teacher. He needs to learn to control the class and be assertive. I never thought I'd actually want to scream at a teacher to do that.

Me: If you could be anyone, fictional, or non fictional, who would you want to be?
Katie: I'd want to be myself. It's as simple as that. Yes, there are stars and role models I could name, but I'd let them be them, and see how far I can go by myself.

Me: Have you ever felt the world owed you? Or you owed the world?
Katie: Hm, I'd have to say that I owed the world. I still do. I'm going to pay it back though.

Me Who or what inspires you? How? Why?
Katie: My friends and every day life inspire me. I am a dreamer and I want to be a writer, so every little instance, I am inspired by someone and they won't even know it.

Me: If someone made a movie of your life, who would you want to play you?
Katie: Well, playing me's a pretty tough role. I am not all caught up with actors (Yes, that's a multi-gender word) these days, so I can't say for sure who'd be the most fitting.

Me: If you could live forever, or die however you chose, would you rather live forever, or choose how you died? How would you want to die?
Katie: I'd probably have to go with 'die how I choose' because forever is an awfully long time to live, and I couldn't bear to watch my generation die without me. Then again, it's been foretold that I am going to die by being mauled by wolves. That'll be an interesting experience. I'm probably going to put up a fight if that happens. Either that or I'm going to kick the bucket by doing something intense.

Me: You are given one million dollars to spend on whatever you want. But there’s a catch. You have to spend it all at one place. Where do you spend it?
Katie: Honestly, I would 'spend' it by giving it away to charity. I cannot think what I'd possibly want with a million dollars that I'd have to spend all in one place. And I don't feel I need a million dollars. There are others that do.

Me: What/who is your favorite pet?
Katie: Kira is my yellow Labrador, and she's the sweetest, softest, most mellow dog I've ever met. I love her immensely.

Q. If you had to eat that pet, or become a pet for aliens, what would you choose to do?
A. I would become a pet for aliens. I wouldn't have the heart to eat my best companion, and I find that I can live with the humility. Meeting aliens could be an interesting adventure...

Q. What do you think of the government in five sentences?
A. The government is trying, it really is. However, it's far from perfection. In my opinion, the world, both the nations of the UN and the rest, need to come together and give peace a chance for any one government to succeed. We won't be complete until we put aside our differences and work together, unbiast, and try to fix economic and environmental problems that only the government has the power to address fully. Well, it'll take a while, I know, but our government doesn't seem complete without a better attempt at world peace. I know this is six sentences including this: I couldn't do a better job at it, because I'm not that into politics.

Me: Describe ex-president Bush Jr. in three words.
Katie: Only three words?

Me: What is the world’s greatest flaw or weakness in your opinion.
Katie: Conflict between nations and ethnicities/religions. Give Peace a chance! Go John Lennon!

Me: Name one country that is probably laughing at the USA right now.
Katie: China

Me: Why are they laughing at us?
Katie: They're laughing because we get everything from them. Check your watch and tell me it doesn't say 'made in China'.

Me: You plan for world domination, who is helping you?
Katie: World Domination, huh? This calls for my younger cousin (name censored for her protection against sparkly unicorns and pink flamingo lawn decorations)

Me: If you were a god, what would you do to the world?
Katie: I would make it innocent again. Clean, peaceful, and loving.

Me: If you had the power to bring one person back to life, who would you bring back to life?
Katie: John Lennon

Me: You win a contest and are president of America for one year, what do you do while in office?
Katie: If I were president, I would promote 'Zen homework'...assigning homework without assigning homework. Uh, I'd rally for world peace; I'd create jobs for the unemployed, and all that jazz. Oh, I'd also establish 'national food fight day'.
