The Human Mind
The Human mind. It is easily excited, stimulated, fascinated. It is stimulated more, depending on what it is looking at, no? So what are these things, that the human mind is evidently so much more stimulated than other things? Well, answer me this.Would more people turn on their T.V. to watch a story on a huge fire that has killed thousands of people in one week, or a story of a billionaire literally giving all his money to a nonprofit organization. The answer? Well, play it out inside of your head, I think you will know. We can’t control it, our natural instincts I mean. Maybe someday, but not now. The Human race is secretly obsessed with violence. We don’t realize it, and don’t want to be, but I don’t think we have a choice in the matter. When something goes horribly wrong, people look like on the outside that they are scared, and they are, don’t get me wrong, but also, somewhere in there, I can bet you that there is a list a glimmer of fascination of the damage, and maybe even a little hope that we can’t stop whatever is going wrong so they can see how it plays out.
Why do humans think this? One of my theories is that most people’s lives go on without any real entertainment or excitement. I don’t mean a walk-off home run or a buzzer beater, but real, hardcore, raw, dramatic events. To accompany this, I think a soldier that spent 20 years in Vietnam would view a disaster very differently than a 15 year old boy. Which brings me to my next point. I think is that the amount of fascination in a person would depend on who that person is and what they have experienced in their lifetime.
Another example. I am comfortable to say that most people in the world love a good action or suspense movie. Same goes with books, after all, that is always what the critics write about on the back.
“Edge-of your seat thriller!”
or
“Heart pounding action!”
The point of these reviews are to draw readers. So they write about how action packed and suspenseful the books are to draw readers, because that is what the human is attracted to. Logically speaking, they must have already figured out what I am saying.
When a human being sees fire, they see danger. Excitement, They see destruction. Our race, in case you haven’t noticed, is very violent. The most violent of all. Why? because we. are. fascinated. with. destruction . It’s in our make up. Of course, not everybody. Not you, I assume, and not most kids in junior high or elementary school, but enough people are, to make us the most dangerous race ever. I think the human kind needs to take a look in the mirror, before that mirror cracks, and shatters forever.
